Leading Edge becomes an All rounder

Cleckheaton based creative design and display company Leading Edge has joined forces with Pro Coach Cricket Academy and Hartshead Moor Cricket Club to support three local lads in their cricket development.
The three lads, Callum Wilkins, 14 from Scholes; Christopher Swift, 13 from Mirfield and Marshall Grieve, 11 from Liversedge “have shown excellent attitude and ability and here at the club we thought it would be great to give them that bit of extra professional help to develop their cricketing skills.” said Andrew Brooke of Hartshead Moor CC.
Hartshead Moor CC has been in existence 135 years and the commitment from the club members is still as strong as the day the club was started in 1876. A lot of time and effort is put into the club, as the continuous ground developments illustrate. The constant strive for the best is what generates the strong sense of community within the club members and its sponsors.
It was this strong community focus that Matthew Evans, Managing Director at Leading Edge jumped at the chance to support, “our roots are built strongly in the local community and I felt it was important to give something back to the club that I have long been a part of and also support a cause that as a business we really believe in”.
Andrew Gale (Yorkshire CCC captain) also has connections to the local cricket scene and since setting up the Pro Coach Cricket Academy with Chris Taylor (former YCCC player) in 2006 it has been their mission to give children the opportunity to improve their game and maximise their abilities within the sport. They set up Pro Coach Cricket Academy after they identified that there was a distinct lack of quality cricket coaching for youngsters and believed that a whole pool of great cricket talent was being missed.
The lucky boys from Hartshead Moor CC are receiving private master class coaching sessions with a coach this summer at the club. In addition to the private sessions, Pro Coach will be facilitating some of the clubs weekly junior training sessions. As the Pro Coach Coaches are all current or ex-professional cricketers the excitement surrounding these sessions is electric as not only is it a great opportunity for the boys, it will continue to keep Hartshead Moor firmly on the cricket map.
Leading Edge has recently undertaken a rebranding exercise for both Pro Coach and the cricket equipment retail outlet All Rounder Cricket, which is based next to Yorkshire CCC’s Headingley stadium. A subsequent marketing campaign has seen Pro Coach roll its services out nationwide, with the help of Leading Edge’s marketing team.
Hartshead Moor Cricket Club plays in the JCT600 Bradford Cricket League and won the Second Teams Division Two Championship in 2010. Leading Edge’s former sales manager Iain Wardlaw, who has recently secured a contract with YCCC, started his cricket career at Hartshead Moor and in 2005 was voted the Bradford Leagues’ Young Player of the Year, after taking 60 wickets in a season.
